Session 2 Recap
Locked in an inn with the pounding of the door filling the silence, the party prepared to defend themselves. After a few moments of noticing the apethetic bartender, the creature seemed to give up. Checking the coast, the party began to make their way out and plan an escape. Not making it more than a few feet, they found the Ankheg completing its work over the bodies of 2 of the guards.
Standing face to face with the beast, a battle ensued. Severe damage was done in both directions, and just as the beast seemed to be on its last limb, the creature dug into the earth, creating a massive tunnel. In an attempt to locate and finish off the threat, or capture it if possible, knowing the possible gold available from the porcelain woman, the party heard a loud crash inside the inn. Upon inspection a guard was being mutilated near the exit hole.
The party collapsed on the creature, ready to make their move. Xaemar noticed the creature through an outside window, choosing the break it open to be able to attack. Shortly after, in an inexperienced blow, a final strike was placed on the now still beast. The bartender, Zotos, pointed a sword at Xaemar as the stillness took the air, telling him that he owes her a window. Readily agreeing, Xaemar pointed out the missed opportunity for gold and began to help, along with the rest of the party, in the cleanup process.
During this time, Hakan made his way northward to find a final resting place for one of the victims, making good on his creed to put as many people to rest as he can. On the trip to find a spot, Hakan finds the beginning of a mass grave near the outer wall and a few graves further east. A respected spot to fulfill his needs.
Meanwhile, Xaemar begins his quest for replacement glass around the immediate area. Having no luck and being given a direction to head in, he begins to make his way towards the western gate, with the warnings in mind. He meets Hakan on the way and they begin to trek out past the gate. With slight struggles, the pair cross the frigid river, only to be met by a giant white wolf.
As the pucker factor increases, word makes its way to the inn and to Vargosk, who immediately rushes to help. A few blows are traded, but just as Vargosk reaches the area, the final blows sent to the creature force a retreat. On the dust settling and Oeriubo catching up, the party peeks out at the damaged and rundown city ahead. Plenty of broken crates litter the gate, seemingly hardly touched. Swquaks and the occaisonal movement of far off buildings throwing up dust are what lie ahead. Hoping a seemingly innocent adventure to fix a window doesn't turn south, the party begins to approch the wall of the other half of Two Towns.
